Common questions
How do you extract data from an invoice automatically?
Invoices arrive by email or in a shared folder. Scribe.sg reads each one, picks out the details you need (supplier, invoice number, date, line items, tax and total) and writes them where you want them. Our team sets this up with you once; after that it happens every time an invoice arrives.
Does it work with scanned or photographed invoices?
Yes, as long as a person could read it. Clear scans and phone photos work well. Blurry, cropped or handwritten documents go to someone on your team to check rather than being guessed.
Can it handle different invoice layouts?
Yes. It reads each document for meaning, not position, so it finds the total wherever it sits on the page. A new supplier doesn't mean a new setup.
Is this the same as OCR?
OCR (optical character recognition) turns a picture of a page into text. That's only the first step. Scribe.sg also works out what the text means, like which number is the total, and puts each value in the right place.
